how it all started
Our story...
In 2018, God planted a seed in our hearts.
What appeared at first to be a failed adoption turned out to be the beginning of something we never expected. A 15-year-old homeless mother had chosen us to adopt her baby boy—but after giving birth, she decided to parent him herself. In that moment of heartbreak, we were overwhelmed not just with sadness, but with deep concern for her. “How will she care for herself and her baby?” “Who will support her?” We found ourselves asking… Could we adopt both of them? Though that wasn’t part of God’s plan, He moved quickly. Within months, we adopted our son. A year later, while attending the Life Choices Pregnancy Center fundraiser, a powerful message was delivered—a call to action—and the seed was watered again. The vision began to form: What if we opened our home—even just a room or two—to pregnant women who needed support? We prayed. We planned. We took small, faithful steps. And God responded by showing us land—property where more than one woman could be housed and loved. Then, through another adoption journey, we had the unexpected opportunity to provide housing for our baby girl’s birth mom. She lived with us for six weeks, and during that time, we held Bible studies together, attended church, and welcomed her into our daily life. We watched her joy return. Her eyes lit up. Her heart opened. She began to live again. It showed us something powerful: family and faith and just being loved every day is transformational. As we took more bold steps in obedience, things started to accelerate. Doors opened. Resources came. The vision became a reality. And today, we stand in awe as we launch Humble Hillside Farm Maternity Home—a place we never imagined we’d be part of, but one that God clearly designed from the beginning. This home is for them—the mothers who need love, support, shelter, and hope. And it’s all for Him—the One who planted the seed and made it grow.
